There have been many so-called “blueprints” of our world, designs for our involvement or relationship here. The genetic structure we carry is one scientific example. Many religious texts, even the Bible, have been called blueprints for our behavior. Have you ever wondered where the original term, blueprint, got its’ name?
One would imagine it to be some invention of an engineer, or maybe a printer. The creation of the engineering blueprint on Earth, the original process using ammonium ferric citrate and potassium ferricyanide on white paper, was the work of an astronomer!
Sir John Herschel invented the process in 1840, whereby engineering drawings would remain inert, and not likely to fade. Sir John Herschel went on to reexamine his father’s catalog of stars, Sir William Herschel, (also an astronomer) eventually becoming president of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1848. Of particular interest to both men were so-called binary star systems. Sir William Herschel is credited with the discovery of the planet Uranus.
Just why would this invention by an astronomer be auspicious? Well, glad you asked! The blueprint introduced here has a kind of celestial bent to it, while still being rooted in the terra firma of Earth. We are all, after all, drifting in celestial space.
Human beings, for the most part, are given this world so abruptly, so harshly, that it is hard at times to come to an understanding of just how this body we are given works, how we operate on this Blue Earth itself. The body we have seems to have spiritual needs, too. Wouldn’t it be nice to be given an idea how the parts work, settling a few of the bigger questions, have a little comfort for each short life we lead?
Riding along on this compelling wave of a planet, we go through physical and psychological changes. It is hypothesized that the interplay of mind with the environment may actually manifest our reality. But it is not as simple as this, for we are not the ultimate creators of this reality.
Regardless of whether we believe in god(s) or we are absolute atheists we cannot deny that we are in relationship. These relationships are so engrained, so taken for granted, that most of us do not even acknowledge them. But they are there, and the blueprint establishes a way to regard and honor them. Yet even this blueprint cannot reveal all the possible relationships we have or might have, in the future. However, as the discoveries of certain “laws” of nature prove, we can work with a few foundation concepts as we evolve our understanding.
This is our dilemma as we move into this new millennium. Technology threatens to put us at the mercy of those who propagate and disseminate its’ enticing products, while most of us do not understand the workings of it. A lot of the technology we have cannot even be wielded responsibly by those who invent it, let alone it be released for further misuse!
Religions stop short of fulfilling us, too. Who hasn’t winced, upon hearing a good word, having it followed by a call to arms or money? Prophets and New Age gurus, channeled information, and ancient “mysteries” have all surmised a little too much of what lies ahead, while we have yet to become masters at this level. It is not such a bad “level”.
The blueprint whispers of poetry. Touch a waterfall at twilight, see a sunset in the charms of your friend, play with a kitten or two, and no, it is not that bad. There is so much to honor, so much to cherish right here; understanding the principals might serve us well as we prepare for the next life or level of ascension.
Is there a blueprint for our souls, our material body that is consistent through all of our changes, beliefs and experiences? Is it possible for this to be acknowledged and built upon? As in all blueprints, this one describes what things may be built, leaving it up to the builder how to get the effort accomplished. It is consistent through micro-cosmic initiation unto the completion of our macro-cosmic bodies and spirit.
